At least 13 people were killed in a fire at a karaoke bar in downtown Hanoi, Vietnam, local media reported on Tuesday, according to Sputnik news.

Reports emerged earlier in the day that the fire broke out at the bar in Hanoi's Cau Cau Giay district, spreading to three neighboring buildings and incinerating cars and motorbikes on the street.

Police and fire brigade arrived on the scene to rescue people from a massive fire. As a result, two police officers were injured and taken to the hospital, the VnExpress newspaper reported, citing local authorities. Vietnam's Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc ordered local authorities to inspect other bars and restaurants violating safety regulations, the newspaper said.
