First Global Forum on Youth Policies adopts Baku Declaration
The First Global Forum on Youth Policies has culminated with the adoption of Baku Declaration.
The last day of the forum featured discussions on youth policy in Africa, Western Asia and countries in the Asia-Pacific, European and Central Asian, Latin American and Caribbean regions.
The forum then heard reports from session moderators. Moderated by the United Nations Secretary-General's Envoy on Youth Ahmad Alhendawi, the session discussed topical issues, including youth involvement in political processes, activities of international youth organizations, youth unemployment, youth entrepreneurship and education.
The participants then watched a video message by Special Advisor of the UN Secretary-General on Post-2015 Development Planning Amina Mohammed.
The final session of the forum was titled Conclusions, commitments and actions. It was moderated by head of Division, Education and Training, Youth Department, Council of Europe, Rui Gomes.
In his speech, Azerbaijani Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov stressed the importance of addressing the challenges faced by youth.
