Five Azerbaijani grandmasters are among the best 100 chess players as the FIDE announced updated ranking list on July 1.
GMs Shahriyar Mammadyarov climbed to 12th place with 2764 points, while Teymur Rajabov ranks 35th with 2722 points.
Eltaj Safarli, Arkadij Naiditsch and Rauf Mammadov are also among the TOP-100 of the FIDE.
The men’s list was topped by Norwegian Magnus Carlsen (2855), while the women’s by Chinese Hou Yifan (2653).
