Forum of Azerbaijani Diaspora organizations kicks off in Turkey
Baku, August 5 (AZERTAC). A Forum on integration of Azerbaijanis abroad into society has started in the city of Bodrum in Turkey.
The opening of the Forum was attended by first vice speaker of Azerbaijani parliament Ziyafat Asgarov, chief of socio-political department of Presidential Administration Ali Hasanov, chairman of State Committee for Work with Diaspora Nazim Ibrahimov, head of the Department of Interregional Cooperation, National Policy and Relations with Religious Organizations of Moscow Yury Artyukh, chairman of Yalikavak municipality of Turkey Mustafa Saruhan.
The Forum brings together heads of Azerbaijani Diaspora organizations operating in Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and European countries. Totally the event is attended by representatives of 172 Diaspora organizations from 26 countries.
Addressing the event chairman of State Committee for Work with Diaspora Nazim Ibrahimov said the purpose of the forum was to discuss issues on integration of Azerbaijanis living abroad into society, protection of their rights and freedoms, activity of Azerbaijani Diaspora organizations to deliver the country`s realities to the world.
Ibrahimov also spoke about the achievements of the Azerbaijani Diaspora organizations over the past years. He said the Diaspora building policy of Azerbaijan was laid by national leader Heydar Aliyev, and President Ilham Aliyev successfully continues his course.
Chief of socio-political department of Presidential Administration Ali Hasanov spoke at the event. He briefed the participants on the main aspects of the Diaspora building policy of Azerbaijan. He said members of the Azerbaijani Diaspora represent their country abroad.
Hasanov noted national leader Heydar Aliyev defined such a principle in the first congress of World Azerbaijanis: Azerbaijanis must be worthy citizens where they live. The second principle defined by national Heydar Aliyev was that our compatriots living abroad must not forget that they are Azerbaijanis.
Ali Hasanov pointed out that representatives of Azerbaijani Diaspora must take an active part in ensuring political, geostrategic, economic, military and other interests of Azerbaijan.
Ali Hasanov also spoke about President Ilham Aliyev`s care and attention to Azerbaijani Diaspora. He said President Ilham Aliyev puts special emphasis on protection of rights and liberties of Azerbaijanis where they live. He added increasing public and political activity of Azerbaijanis abroad is priority for the Azerbaijani state.
Head of the Department of Interregional Cooperation, National Policy and Relations with Religious Organisations of Moscow Yury Artyukh praised the activity of Azerbaijani Diaspora in Russia. He said the Department of Interregional Cooperation, National Policy and Relations with Religious Organizations had close cooperation with Azerbaijani Diaspora organizations.
Then first panel session started entitled “All-Russia Azerbaijan Congress as a model of unity of Azerbaijanis living in Russia”.
The panel was addressed by Nazim Ibrahimov who spoke of the history and activity of the All-Russia Azerbaijan Congress.
Secretary general of the All-Russia Azerbaijan Congress Mikayil Huseynov briefed the participants on the progress made by the organization since its creation.
Member of the Central Council of the Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia (AMOR) delivered greetings of chairwoman of the organization Leyla Aliyeva to the participants. He spoke about the activity of AMOR and events held by the organization.
Deputy secretary general of the All-Russia Azerbaijan Congress Nemat Nagdaliyev told on the active role of Azerbaijani students abroad.
Other speakers at the event put forward proposals regarding solution of some relevant problems.
First vice speaker of Azerbaijani parliament Ziyafat Asgarov, chief of socio-political department of Presidential Administration Ali Hasanov, chairman of State Committee for Work with Diaspora Nazim Ibrahimov made their opinions about the proposals, and answered questions.
