Digitsole has unveiled a futuristic-looking pair of trainers that automatically tighten, as well as heat the feet.
Described as 'the world's first intelligent footwear,' the futuristic Smartshoe wouldn't look out of place in Back to the Future and it can also count calories and distance travelled too, according to the Mail Online.
The shoes were revealed at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas by makers Digitsole.
Currently a prototype, the Smartshoe design seems to take inspiration from a sports car and lacks traditional sneaker features, such as shoelaces.
While they may not have Marty McFly's self-tying laces, they do tighten and loosen at the touch of a button on a companion app.
The app will also be used to control the shoe's central heating, which can keep feet as warm as 38°C (100°F), Mashable reported.
An integrated thermostat controls the temperature, causing the insole to heat up once it drops below a chosen setting.
The insoles also contain a battery and a Bluetooth sensor.
The product is made from Neotech, which is a specially designed lightweight material layered with 'Ortholite', with shock absorbing characteristics.
The battery lasts between eight hours, if used continuously, or several days if used sparingly.
The insoles are charged with a micro-USB charger.
Users can control the insoles from an iPhone or Android app. This is possible using a Bluetooth connection.
Digitsole's Smartshoe 01s are set to go on sale in the US and Europe in September for a hefty $450 (£307).
