Baku, February 8, AZERTAC

The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) published on Monday on its website a list of Russian athletes banned from international competitions for the duration of the suspension of the All-Russia Athletics Federation (ARAF), according to TASS.

The list contains a total of 4,027 names of Russian athletes including national team leaders (such as Yelena Isinbayeva, Yekaterina Koneva, Daria Klishina, Anna Chicherova, Sergey Shubenkov) as well as athletes suspended over doping-related issues (Valery Borchin, Sergey Kirdyapkin, Olga Kaniskina, Sergey Bakulin, Vladimir Kanaikin, Lilia Shobukhova, Yevgeniya Zolotova).

The list was prepared based on the information provided by the All-Russia Athletics Federation (ARAF). The IAAF, however, also reported on its website on Monday that the current list was not final and can be a subject to changes.

WADA’s Independent Commission published on November 9 the results of its probe into the activity of the ARAF, the Moscow anti-doping laboratory, the RUSADA and the Russian Sports Ministry.

The commission accused certain athletes and sports officials of doping abuse and involvement in other activities related to violations of international regulations on performance enhancing substances.
