ISESCO Executive Council to prepare cultural heritage program for conflict zones

Executive Council of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) has held its 37th session in Rabat, Kingdom of Morocco, on 4-5 October 2016, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism said.

Vasif Eyvazzade, head of the Ministry’s international relations department and Secretary General of Azerbaijan National Commission for ISESCO took part at the event.

Addressing the session, ISESCO Director General Dr. Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri spoke of the importance of the event, expressed gratitude to the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan for high organization of the last year’s session and 12th general conference.

Speaking during the discussion of the agenda, Member of ISESCO Executive Council Vasif Eyvazzade noted persistent development of the ISESCO-Azerbaijan relations thanks to the support of country’s leadership, reminded Dr. Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri’s remarks to support territorial integrity of Azerbaijan during the 5th International Humanitarian Forum held last week in Baku, hailed his resolute position with regard to the Armenian occupation.

Vasif Eyvazzade offered realization of a special program on the state of cultural heritage in the conflict zones, as well as projects to strengthen cooperation between the National Commissions of ISESCO member states.

Eyvazzade held a number of meetings with the heads of relevant departments to expand future relations among the ISESCO national commissions.
