ISESCO condemns Holy Quran burning by American pastor

A+ A

Baku, May 8 (AZERTAC). The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) strongly condemned the insane gesture by Terry Jones, pastor of an Anglican church in the US state of Florida, who burned copies of the Holy Quran in callous disregard for the feelings of Muslims in the world.

In a communiqué released today, ISESCO faulted Quran burning as being despicably racist and disdainful to Islam, and an intolerable affront to international law and the basic principles of human rights.

ISESCO called for an international campaign to deter reoccurrence of similar crimes, and urged on the Florida church to severely reprehend the perpetrator and denounce such an act of aggression against revealed religions.
