International tournament commemorating Vugar Hashimov kicks off in Baku

An international chess tournament commemorating Azerbaijani grandmaster Vugar Hashimov has started in Baku.

The tournament participants first visited the grave of Vugar Hashimov at the Alley of Honors. Vugar's teammates spoke of his life and achievements.

The tournament brings together group boys and girls in Under-8, -10 and -12 age categories, as well world and European championships prize winners, participants of Azerbaijani championship and foreign players from Russia, Iran, Georgia and France.

The favorite of the international tournament is Azerbaijani Mahammad Muradli (2052).

The winner will be awarded Vugar Hashimov cup.
