Tehran, August 3, AZERTAC
"Iran and Azerbaijan have great potential for cooperation in energy, transport and trade areas. Using the current potential for their economic development, both countries can realize joint programs that will help them get access to foreign markets, including European one,” head of the secretariat of the Iran-Azerbaijan intergovernmental commission Mehdi Mohtashami has told AZERTAC.
“Through Iran Azerbaijan may sustain its corridor to the Persian Gulf and Central Asian countries."
He noted that Azerbaijani Minister of Economy and Industry Shahin Mustafayev's visit to Iran was aimed at reviewing the work carried out under bilateral agreements and ensuring future development of the bilateral relations.
"We are two neighboring countries. We are bound together by the cultural, historical, lingual and religious values and we can't be apart from each other,” he said.
“There are some neighboring countries that are very distinct than the others, and Azerbaijan for us is one of those countries."
