Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif arrived in Georgia on Monday to hold talks with Georgian officials on developing relations, according to IRNA.
Zarif was welcomed by Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia David Jalagania at Tbilisi Airport.
He is scheduled to hold meetings with Georgian senior political officials.
Foreign Minister Zarif is on a tour to three Central Asian and Caucasian countries. The trip takes place on the eve of the 25th independence anniversary of these countries and 25 years after Iran’s diplomatic ties with them.
An economic-industrial delegation accompanies Zarif in this trip.
Foreign Minister is scheduled to visit Kyrgyzstan after Georgia.
