“We need more education for cultural diversity. We need more cultural competences, we need more interreligious, intercultural dialogue, more respect towards other cultures,” said Director-General of UNESCO Irina Bokova in an exclusive interview with AZERTAC`s special correspondent.
“From the very beginning UNESCO has been associated with other partners as Alliance of Civilizations, World Tourism Organization, the Council of Europe and many other civil society groups and governments.” “It is important because what is happening nowadays in the world - the rising intolerance, the rising violent extremism, destruction of cultural heritage, illicit trafficking, humanitarian crisis, of course, are of grave concern for us,” she added.
