Islamic culture ministers convene in Oman

The 9th session of the Islamic Conference of Culture Ministers (ICCM) has kicked off in Muscat, Oman. A delegation led by Azerbaijani minister of culture and tourism Abulfas Garayev is attending the event.
In his address, Omani Heritage and Culture Minister Sayyid Haitham bin Tariq Al Said hailed the importance of the event.
Director General of ISESCO Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri thanked culture ministers and delegations from 40 countries participating in the conference. He noted the role of culture in strengthening relations among countries.
Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Iyad Amin Madani highlighted the importance of protecting the Islamic heritage and culture samples destroyed by terrorist attacks. He also expressed concern about the ongoing Islamophobic trends in the world and European countries` attitude to refugees.
Minister Garayev is also expected to address the conference.
