Italian students informed about Nagorno-Karabakh conflict

Counsellor of Azerbaijan`s Embassy to Italy Vugar Hajiyev has delivered a report on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict for students of Sapienza University of Rome. The Diplomat highlighted the history, causes, negotiations process, consequences of the conflict, saying the problem that continuing more than 20 years was the main threat to the region.

He said as the result of the military aggression of Armenian armed forces, Nagorno-Karabakh and seven surrounded regions were occupied. The diplomat said international organizations, including the UN adopted the resolutions and decisions on immediate, unconditional withdrawal of Armenian Armed Forces from Azerbaijan`s occupied lands. “The international organizations, Council of Europe, European Union, European Parliament adopted the resolutions supporting Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity, but Armenia refuses to honor these documents.” He said.

Mr. Hajiyev stressed the importance of taking further concrete steps by the international community in settlement of the conflict.
