Kakha Kaladze: Azerbaijan plays an important role in ensuring energy security of Georgia

Deputy Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Energy Kakha Kaladze has said Azerbaijan is the main strategic partner of Georgia. He also stated Azerbaijan played an important role in ensuring the energy security of Georgia, as well as Europe. “Development of relations with Azerbaijan is very significant for us.” The Deputy PM added.

“Shahdeniz-2 project is very important for Turkey, Georgia and Europe. 25 billion dollar was invested for his project.”

On purchase of natural gas from Azerbaijan, the Deputy Premier said an agreement on purchase of gas from SOCAR expires in 2025.
