Kuwait: Gulf railway project that links all six GCC countries to be completed by 2018
Baku, August 14, AZERTAC
The Gulf railway project which links all six GCC countries would be completed and operational by 2018 was announced by the Gulf Secretariat General.
The project would link Kuwait City through all the GCC countries via Saudi Arabia and Bahrain to Muscat. The estimated cost of the project is expected to be more than $15.4 billion.
According to Kuwait Times, the passenger trains will run at a speed of 220 km/hr, while cargo trains speeds range between 80-120 220 km/hr.
