Kuwait donates laparoscopic equipment to Central Hospital of Seamen

The Government of Kuwait has donated a laparoscopic medical equipment manufactured by German company Karl Storz to the Central Hospital of Seamen. The equipment, which costs AZN 245,000, is designed for the extraction of stones from the kidneys. It was donated through the Asian Muslims Committee, the International charity organization of Kuwait.
The official donation ceremony was attended by Ambassador of Kuwait to Azerbaijan Saud Abdulaziz al-Roumi, representatives of Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company, Asian Muslims Committee, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs as well as mass media.
Addressing the event, Head Physician of the Central Hospital of Seamen Gerasim Rustamov thanked the government of Kuwait for “such a noble action”.
The Ambassador of Kuwait praised relations between two countries. He said peoples of Azerbaijan and Kuwait are bound together by common values, religious and cultural ties. The diplomat also provided an insight into the charity activity of the Kuwaiti government. He said that 15 million US dollars have been allocated for charity since Azerbaijan office of the Asian Muslims Committee started functioning. According to the Ambassador, these funds were spent on the drilling of water wells, restoration of ancient mosques, purchase of medical equipment purchase and other projects.
