Kyrgyzstan unveils CIS chairmanship concept

The CIS Executive Committee has hosted the first 2016 meeting of the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives of CIS under the statutory and other bodies of the Commonwealth, AZERTAC said quoting the Minsk headquarters.

CIS Executive Secretary Sergey Lebedev attended the meeting.

This yeas Kazakhstan hands over its CIS chairmanship to Kyrgyzstan, and the Council of Permanent Representatives will be chaired by the permanent representative of Kyrgyzstan in the statutory and other bodies of the CIS, Kyrgyz Ambassador to Belarus Kubanichbek Omuraliev. He introduced the concept of Kyrgyzstan’s presidency in the CIS in 2016.

The concept features priorities of Kyrgyzstan's chairmanship in the field of humanitarian and economic cooperation, collaboration in the field of security and defense, science, innovation, culture, environmental safety and emergency management.

The Permanent Representatives also approved the work plan for the coming year.
