Latvian President receives leadership of Nizami Ganjavi International Center

Latvian President Raimonds Vejonis has today received members of the Board of Trustees of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center.

Participants in the meeting included co-chair of the center, Latvian's former President Vaira Vīķe-Freiberga, co-chair, Founding Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Ismail Serageldin, member of the Board of Trustees, chairman of Azerbaijan`s State Committee on Work with Diaspora Nazim Ibrahimov.

Nazim Ibrahimov extended the greetings of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to President Raimonds Vejonis. President Vejonis thanked the Azerbaijani leader for the greetings.

They discussed work, future plans and projects of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, as well as cooperation prospects. Preparations for the 5th Global Baku Forum were also discussed at the meeting.

President Raimonds Vejonis was invited to participate in the 5th Global Baku Forum to be held in 2017.

The visit of the members of the Board of Trustees of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center to Riga continues. The visit will see Founding Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Ismail Serageldin deliver a lecture on Nizami Ganjavi's works at the University of Latvia.
