Liz Smith dies aged 95

The actress, who also starred as eccentric baker Letitia Cropley in The Vicar of Dibley, died on Christmas Eve, according to Telegraph.

Smith only got landed her first professional role when she was in her late 40s after Mike Leigh, who was making Bleak Moments, appealed for middle-aged women who were capable of improvisation. Her career took off after she played the lead role in his first television film Hard Labour.
