The art historian and critic Janet Zwinzhenberger hailed the fact that the opening ceremony of Maryam Alakbarli`s exhibition was organized at Galerie de Buci. "The young artist has lived in Paris for several years and is closely acquainted with the French culture, her artworks were on show at various exhibition salons of the French capital… Today we see that in her new works she already uses new colors, gives preference to sand tones. But she did not leave aside the familiar red and pink tones in her paintings... The young artist made changes to her drawing technique. In these works we can clearly feel the influence of Matisse," said the critic.
Journalist Kyra Brenzinger noted that she has known Maryam Alakbarli and her works for several years. "Every time I learn about the organization of her exhibitions I am happy to attend them. I follow her activity. I really love her choice of colors," she said. "I compare Maryam with Matisse, her works are also influenced by the great French artists Gauguin and Cezanne. I am sure that her works will conquer the largest museums in the world. Maryam deserves it," Brenzinger said.
