Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and the participants in the forum Open Innovations have had to leave the conference hall, TASS reports.
While the discussion was in progress the moderator asked those present to leave the room for security reasons. All those present rose from their seats and headed for exit.
The smell of burning and light smoke can be felt inside the building, a TASS correspondent reports. A fire reportedly occurred on the second floor. It has been eliminated by now. The ventilation system was turned on. The participants and guests were in no hurry to leave.
According to a witness, first there occurred a noise above the hall under the dome-shaped roof. A short circuit followed. Several flashes could be seen.
Earlier, during one of the sessions underway at the Open Innovations forum the lights suddenly went off and the speakers’ microphones went dead. It took electricians about 20 minutes to restore power supply and turn on the lights and the microphones again.
Some journalists are complaining about the quality and speed of Wi-Fi connections. In some of the forum’s rooms the mobile phone signal is poor.
