Nakhchivan hosts events on 25th anniversary of restoration of state independence

Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic has hosted a series of events marking the 25th anniversary of the restoration of Azerbaijan`s state independence.

Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov visited the Alley of Martyrs to pay tribute to "A Monument to a Mother", the graves of those who gave their lives in the struggle for independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, and a monument to Turkish soldiers who came to the aid of Nakhchivan and were martyred in these lands in the fight against the Armenian dashnaks in 1918-1920.

Vasif Talibov then laid flowers at the statue of Azerbaijani national leader Heydar Aliyev in the central square in the city of Nakhchivan.

Then the event on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the restoration of state independence was held at the National Flag Museum in the city.

Chairman of Nakhchivan Supreme Assembly Vasif Talibov addressed the event.

Chairman of Nakhchivan Supreme Assembly and the event participants then viewed exhibits which were displayed at the Museum. The collection of the Museum features flags of ancient states in the territory of Azerbaijan, including the Nakhchivan khanate.
