Nearly 15,000 visit Pomegranate Festival in Goychay
Goychay, November 8, AZERTAC
The 10th Pomegranate Festival in Goychay has been attended by 15,000 visitors.
The festival gathers the varieties of pomegranates grown in different villages of Goychay and the products made of pomegranate to the exhibition held in the town square.
Among those attending the opening ceremony were state and government representatives, MPs, foreign ambassadors, representatives of international organizations, local and foreign businessmen.
Speaking to the ceremony, head of Goychay’s executive authority Mubariz Agayev and Deputy Minister of Agriculture Ilham Guliyev underlined the importance of the festival in stimulating growth in fruit cultivation. They said the festival has contributed to the development of pomegranate industry in recent years.
This unique and juicy holiday has been celebrated regularly in early November since 2006 around the country and mainly in Goychay.
