PAF jets kill 13 terrorists in North Waziristan
Islamabad, May 21, AZERTAC
At least 13 suspected terrorists were killed when PAF fighter jets pounded several militant hideouts in Datta Khel area of North Waziristan on Wednesday morning, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported, according to Daily Times. According to the ISPR, five militant hideouts were also destroyed in the action.
The fresh aerial strikes took place two days after a US drone strike in northwestern Shawal Valley killed at least five militants.
Earlier on May 14, at least 15 terrorists including some foreigners were killed in area ahead of Datta Khel in North Waziristan.
North Waziristan is one of the seven regions in Pakistan’s Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) governed by tribal laws, which is situated along the Pak-Afghan border and is rife with Taliban militant activity.
Meanwhile, a security personnel was killed and another injured when a vehicle of security forces hit a bomb on Wednesday.
Security sources said unidentified miscreants targeted a vehicle of security forces near Kaka Ziarat in Spin Wam area of North Waziristan Agency (NWA) with a remote-controlled bomb.
The vehicle was damaged in the blast, resulting in the death of a soldier and leaving another critically injured. The injured was shifted to a local hospital.
Security forces cordoned off the area after the attack and launched a search operation.
