Pakistan not to recognize Armenia until liberation of Azerbaijan’s occupied lands, Nayyar Bukhari
Baku, April 28 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Pakistan Dashgin Shikarov met with the newly elected Chairman of the Pakistani Senate Nayyar Hussain Bukhari.
Shikarov congratulated Mr. Bukhari on his election as a Chairman of Senate, wished success in further activities. He conveyed greetings of Azerbaijani Speaker Ogtay Asadov and handed over an invitation letter to visit Azerbaijan, the embassy of Azerbaijan in Pakistan said.
Shikarov highlighted the political, economic and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries, expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s support for fair position of Azerbaijan in the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh problem. Ambassador Shikarov also reminded Pakistani Senate’s adoption of the resolution on February 1 current year on recognition of Khojaly genocide the Armenians committed in the Azerbaijani town Khojaly against peaceful people. He praised this position of Pakistani state, which, according to him, is adherence to international legal principles and norms. This is, he said, also indicator of fraternal relations between the two nations.
Ambassador of Azerbaijan informed on the latest successes Azerbaijan gained in redevelopment activities, the economic reforms conducted in the country, the preparations form Eurovision Song Contest, the humanitarian projects being realized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
Chairman of the Pakistani Senate said his country would support Azerbaijan in the Nagorno Karabakh problem until the occupied territories of Azerbaijan are freed. The resolution adopted on recognition of Khojaly genocide was univocally backed by the ruling party of Pakistan he himself represents, the Senate Chairman underlined.
The sides expressed satisfaction with the cooperation ties between the two countries in defense industry, energy, pharmacology, agriculture and information technologies.
