“Petlim container port second phase will enter service in June of this year,” said SOCAR Turkey Energy Director General Zaur Gahramanov.
“First phase of $380 million Petlim container port project is already in use. This is the largest capacity port in Aegean Sea. The first phase serves 5 days of the week,” he said.
Petlim will be the third largest port in Turkey and the largest port in the Turkish part of the Aegean Sea.
SOCAR owns a 70 per cent share in the port, while Goldman Sachs has the rest 30 per cent stake.
Dutch APM Terminals will run the port for the next 28 years.
