Policemen killed in Cairo blast

Baku, December 9, AZERTAC

Six policemen were killed and three wounded on Friday when a bomb placed in a rubbish bin exploded at a security checkpoint in Cairo, security sources and state media said, according to Al Jazeera.

Egypt's state run news agency MENA said the blast occurred on Pyramids road, the main avenue leading from the city centre out to the Giza pyramids.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack, which also injured at least four civilians.
