President Ilham Aliyev visits memorial of the Hero of Soviet Union Mehdi Huseynzade in Slovenia’s Goritsa city
Ljubljana, June, 10 (AZERTAC). On June 10, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and President Danilo Turk of Slovenia visited in Slovenia’s Goritsa city the memorial of the hero of the Soviet Union and the brave son of Azerbaijani people Mehdi Huseynzade (Mikhaylo) and took part in the opening ceremony of the memorial museum.
Addressing the ceremony organized at the memorial of Mehdi Huseynzade, the Mayor Goritsa city noted that is glad to see the President of Azerbaijan in this city.
Chairman of the Slovenia-Azerbaijan Friendship Society Ivan Bashin spoke of the legendary heroism of Mikhaylo.
Speaking about the activity of the Society he supervises, Bashin said that its key goal is to expand relations with Azerbaijan in the field of science, education, culture and economy, to bring larger contribution to bilateral cooperation.
President of Azerbaijan and Slovenia took part in opening of the memorial museum of Mehdi Huseynzade.
Heads of the states unveiled the memorial plaque.
President Ilham Aliyev and President Danilo Turk got acquainted with the museum.
Then, the two Presidents were photographed for memory in front of the bust of Mehdi Huseynzade.
