Baku, June 17, AZERTAC

Romania, the group and mixed pairs Aerobic Gymnastics world champions, face intense competition at Baku 2015.

“It’s very important to be united, to be strong and fight as one,” said Bianca Gorgovan, a member of Romania's gold medal-winning group at the 2014 world championship in Cancun, Mexico.

But Romania will need more than team spirit to hold off Russia and France, who finished third and fourth in the 2015 World Cup final rankings.

In mixed pairs, 2014 world bronze medallists Denis Solovev and Dukhik Dzhanazian of Russia will face world no.1 pair Vicente Lli Lloris and Sara Moreno Lopez of Spain.

Baku will give both duos the chance to compare their progress since the 2014 world championship, when the Spanish pair placed sixth.

The Aerobics competition will include qualifications for mixed pairs and groups on Wednesday, and finals for the top six mixed pairs and groups on Sunday.
