SEBA and Korea Foundation sign MoU
Korean Ambassador to Azerbaijan Choi Suk-inn also attended the event.
Delivering a speech at the event, SEBA President Ruhangiz Heydarova said that the relations between Azerbaijan and Korea are developing day by day. Mrs. Heydarova recalled that these relations have been established by national leader Heydar Aliyev. She mentioned that SEBA, which has started functioning as a non-governmental organization since 2004, is closely involved in development of cultural ties between Azerbaijan and Korea. Organization of culture and cinema days, exhibitions, concerts, scientific symposia, and health care for poor refugees and internally displaced persons, archaeological excavations by the Association as well as the establishment of Eastern Medicine Clinic are good examples of it. Heydarova said that SEBA’s activity has been periodically supported by the Korean Embassy in Baku and Azerbaijani Embassy in Seoul. She said the memorandum will play an important role in development of relations between the two countries.
Korea Foundation President Yu Hyun-seok said that the time has come to develop and strengthen bilateral cultural ties between Azerbaijan and Korea. According to him, the close cooperation between SEBA and Korea Foundation will be a bridge in terms of connecting the people and cultures of the two countries. Yu Hyun-seok said it is high time to boost bilateral relations by increasing cultural exchange, adding the Association headed by Ruhangiz Heydarova has become a major partner of Korea Foundation in this sphere.
“The signing of this Memorandum will further develop cooperation between the two countries and people,” he said.
Following this, SEBA and Korea Foundation signed a Memorandum.
Established in 1991, the Korea Foundation is one of the most important socio-diplomatic organizations of the country. The Foundation is seeking to build friendly relations between world population through cultural, intellectual, scientific and other exchange programs.
