SPE International President visits BHOS

President of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Nathan Meehan has visited Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) where had a meeting with its rector and students. Rector Elmar Gasimov highlighted the history and activity of the higher school, and its cooperation with transnational companies. Gasimov also gave detailed information about BHOS new campus. He particularly stressed the role of international companies who offer internship opportunities for BHOS students which should supplement education process.
The rector said that 47 BHOS students joined SPE Annual Caspian Technical Conference and Exhibition which continues in Baku. He also pointed out that in future BHOS students would have an access to SPE library sources. Gasimov expressed his confidence that the present meeting with “such an experienced specialist” would certainly be very beneficial for students’ future career.
SPE International President Meehan provided an insight into SPE`s mission, and its cooperation with industrial centers, and research and education institutions.
Meehan also said that currently he serves as Senior Executive Advisor to Baker Hughes’ executive management and that he has more than 37 years of global experience in reservoir engineering, reserve estimation, hydraulic fracturing and horizontal well expertise.
Rector Gasimov presented an Honorary Guest diploma to SPE International President Meehan.
