STA General Manager says agreement on cooperation to be signed with AzerTAc will contribute to expanding information exchange VIDEO
Ljubljana, February 13, AZERTAC
“An agreement on cooperation to be signed between Azerbaijan State Telegraph Agency (AZERTAC) and Slovenian Press Agency (STA) would create an opportunity for expanding information exchange,” said STA General Manager Bojan Veselinovic as he met AZERTAC`s correspondents Aygun Hasanova and Anar Rzayev who are visiting Slovenia.
Mr. Veselinovic said STA attaches great importance to developing relations with AZERTAC. He underlined that the document to be signed on the eve of the 95th anniversary of AZERTAC would be a new platform for future cooperation. The STA General Manager hailed the attention of AZERTAC`s management to the development of cooperation between the two agencies.
Following the meeting, AZERTAC`s correspondents familiarized themselves with the activity of STA. They had meetings with STA editor-in-chief Barbara Strukelj and foreign news desk editor Sergeja Kotnik Zavri. They learnt that STA, which established in 1991 and was the only national press agency, covers domestic affairs, foreign politics, economics, culture, sport, education in Slovenian and English languages.
AZERTAC`s representatives provided information on the activity of AZERTAC, saying the agency has bureaus in 21 countries and broadcasts news in seven languages. They said AZERTAC is the only news source in the country which produces video news in five languages. In 2016, AZERTAC will host the 5th Congress of World News Agencies and 16th General Assembly of OANA.
