A workshop for employees of the SOCAR’s business units dealing with process automation was held by representatives of Schneider Electric company at Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS). BHOS specialists and students also attended the workshop. Two reports, namely Telemetrics, Remote Control of SCADA System, and Wireless Sensors and New Generation of Modicon M580 Controllers for Oil and Gas Industry were presented.
Opening the workshop, BHOS Vice-Rector for Training, Science and International Relations Ramiz Humbatov welcomed representatives of Schneider Electric and SOCAR’s business units on behalf of BHOS management. As he reported, such workshops were organized at the Higher School in the past and would be regularly arranged by the BHOS’ Lifelong Learning Department in the future.
The workshop participants discussed lectures delivered by experts of Schneider Electric’s division in Russia. The lectures were delivered by Natalia Nielsen, Business Development Manager, Marketing-Process Automation CIS; Nickolay Sobol, ID PAC Product Manager CIS, Industry Business, Russia; and Yuri Serebrennikov, Chief Technical Advisor.
The workshop participants included representatives of SOCAR’s Head Office, Azneft Production Union, Oil and Gas Research and Design Institute, Gas Export Department, IT and Communications Department, Azersu JSC and Sentra Ltd.
