As earlier reported, the European Youth Event (EYE) took place in the European Parliament in Strasbourg from 20-21 May 2016. It is a unique opportunity for thousands of young Europeans to make their voices heard.
The EYE 2016 included a large variety of activities run under the motto "Together we can make a change" in a political, social and cultural sense.
During the event, the participants exchanged ideas and perspectives on youth-related issues, developed innovative solutions to crucial questions for the future and met with European decision-makers and speakers with a wide range of professional experience.
At the same time, the EYE provided an opportunity to experience the rich cultural diversity within the European Union through the staging of various artistic performances and spectacles.
The event was attended by 7500 youth representatives from 39 world countries.
Azerbaijan was represented at the event by a delegation led by the chairman of Ganja European Youth Capital 2016 Public Union Elmir Valiyev and the deputy head of the Ganja City Executive Authorities Mikayil Zeynalov.
The Azerbaijani youth were active at The EYE 2016, arranged national stands to show the history, culture, the youth policy in the country and the City of Ganja as the European Youth Capital 2016.
Addressing the session participants, the Chairman of Ganja European Youth Capital 2016 Public Union Elmir Valiyev said that the success in the country’s youth policy is directly the result of the state policy for youth, President Ilham Aliyev’s personal care and attention rendered to the country’s youth what stimulates and mobilizes the young generation for new challenges .
