Baku, August 21 AZERTAC
Sweden`s Plunge jazz trio will perform in Baku as part of the Baku International Jazz Festival.
This year, the festival will feature performances of renowned music bands as Gabriel Grossi Trio, Irakli Koiava Duet, Antonio Lizana Group and others.
The event aims at showcasing Azerbaijan's long-running attachment to the American-born art form, a connection first established in the country during the 1950s and 1960s, during a time when jazz was outlawed by Soviet authorities.
Plunge is a contemporary chamber-jazz trio from New Orleans led by trombonist/composer Mark McGrain. The jazz band has toured Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Italy and the UK and made several appearances on Swedish and European radio.
