TEAS Press becomes official distributor for Oxford University Press’s ELT publishing in Azerbaijan
Baku, May 15, AZERTAC
Oxford University Press (OUP), the largest university press in the world, has appointed TEAS Press as OUP’s official distributor of English Language Teaching (ELT) materials in Azerbaijan. The decision to work together was made following the 11th ELT Sales Conference for Central Asia, Middle East and North Africa held in Turkey in February. The collaboration of OUP and TEAS enables OUP to distribute ELT materials for all kinds of audiences in Azerbaijan, enriching the lives of teachers and students through education and learning English.
The collaboration between OUP and TEAS will be announced by Tale Heydarov, Chairman of the TEAS and Simon Mavin, ELT’s Sales and International Development Director, OUP at an official launch event on 15 May.
On 16 May, two of OUP’s ELT experienced trainers will introduce Azerbaijan’s educators to a range of OUP’s ELT materials. The trainers, Bill Bowler and Angela Buckingham will deliver a workshop on 16 May to teachers at educational institutions, including universities and public and private schools. Shaping learning together, OUP’s trainers will work with Azerbaijan’s educators to introduce them to materials such as Family and Friends for young learners of English, and Solutions, Headway, and English File for secondary to adult learners. The workshop will help educators consider how they might use these materials in their classrooms to develop students’ English language skills.
OUP has a long history of publishing for English language teaching, publishing one of the first dictionaries for learners of English (Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary) in the 1940s. Today OUP is internationally recognized as a global leader in publishing for ELT. Simon Mavin said ‘At OUP we believe that education changes lives for the better, and we are delighted that teachers and students in Azerbaijan will be able to benefit from our materials through our collaboration with TEAS.’
