Theodore Theodoridis has been appointed secretary general of UEFA in a permanent role, Europe's ruling football body says, according to DPA.

Greek Theodoridis was deputy of former UEFA secretary general Gianni Infantino and replaced him on an interim basis in March after Infantino was elected president of the world governing body FIFA.

Thursday’s formal decision by the UEFA executive committee was made after a proposal by new UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin.
