Baku, December 18, AZERTAC
Baku City Circuit (BCC) will mark a further milestone on the journey to the inaugural 2016 Formula 1 Grand Prix of Europe with the launch of its online ticket sales programme on December 19th, to coincide with the ‘Six-Months-To-Go’ celebrations taking place in the city that same day.
Tickets for the newest addition to the Formula 1 calendar will become available to purchase online via www.bakucitycircuit.com; exactly six months ahead of the first event of its kind ever staged in Azerbaijan.
The ‘Six-Months-To-Go’ celebrations, hosted on the city’s stunning seafront boulevard, will include a series of incredible entertainment activities including live music performances and a spectacular fireworks display to help whet the appetite of the local population in advance of F1’s arrival in downtown Baku next June.
Commenting on this latest positive development, Arif Rahimov, BCC’s Executive Director, said: “The start of the ticket sales process is one of the key milestones in the life of any major sporting event, and we are no different in this regard. I have no doubt that the launch of our ticket sales programme, together with the ‘Six-Months-To-Go’ celebrations, will increase the excitement already being felt in the city as the arrival of Formula 1 in Baku draws ever closer.”
A variety of ticket options will be offered for the 2016 Formula 1 Baku Grand Prix of Europe, including various packages for the Absheron Grandstand, which will offer fans some fantastic views of the start/finish lane, as well as a wide range of different Grandstand seating options, located at various corners and straights along the track. In addition, General Admission roaming tickets will also be on offer to those preferring to watch the action from different locations on the track on various standing areas and podiums.
On the weekend of June 17-19, 2016, the specially constructed Baku City Circuit will see Formula 1 cars race around the picturesque streets of downtown Baku, incorporating the city’s UNESCO-protected old town – Icheri Sheher - as well as its modern skyline and beautiful Caspian Sea vista in front of a global audience of millions.
