TurkPA observer mission to monitor Turkish referendum

Istanbul, April 15, AZERTAC

A delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-Speaking Countries (TurkPA) is in Ankara to monitor a nation-wide referendum on the proposed constitutional amendments to be held on in Turkey April 16. Led by chair of the Azerbaijani parliament`s health committee Ahliman Amiraslanov, the delegation includes Azerbaijani MP Aghalar Valiyev, TurkPA Secretary-General Jandos Asanov, as well as representatives of the Kazakh and Kyrgyz parliaments.

On April 14 TurkPA observers met with chairman of Turkey's Supreme Board of Elections Sadi Güven who gave detailed information about the referendum.

Head of the delegation Ahliman Amiraslanov expressed their confidence that the referendum will be excellently organized.

The members of the observation mission together with other observers will visit a number of polling stations and monitor the voting during the referendum.
