Baku, July 16, AZERTAC

“Last night there was an attempted military coup in Turkey. It was attempted by faction of the Turkish military, but the Turkish armed forces weren’t fully involved in that,” Turkish Ambassador in Azerbaijan Alper Coskun has told journalists.

“That behavior of mutineers can be evaluated by a single line: this is a treason and those who are behind it will face the most severe punishment. The Turkish people have firmly opposed against this betrayal. They demonstrated how they protect their democracy by standing strongly against the coup. Last night also proved that the Turkish government and democracy is very strong. No one should doubt Turkey’s further development,” The Ambassador added.
