Two Sydney high schools in lockdown after terror threats

Canberra, October 20, AZERTAC

Two southwestern Sydney schools are in lockdown after receiving terror threats on social media.

Counter terrorism police have been dispatched to East Hills Boys High School in Panania and Sir Joseph Banks High School in Revesby.

Last year pro-Islamic State graffiti was spray-painted on walls at East Hills Boys High.

It was revealed last year that police have asked staff at the south-western Sydney high school to monitor their students amid fears terrorism recruiters are targeting youngsters.

The two schools are operating as usual and will hold a lunchtime assembly to update students on the situation.
