UK Parliamentary delegation visits Milli Majlis

Speaker of the Azerbaijan`s Milli Majlis Ogtay Asadov has met with a British Parliamentary delegation who monitored the referendum on Constitutional amendments in the country.
Ogtay Asadov noted that the referendum was held in accordance with the international standards.
The Parliament Speaker underlined that web cameras were installed in 1,000 polling stations.
Ogtay Asadov hailed the importance of the referendum for Azerbaijan and its future. "To be insured against ongoing dangerous prosesses both in the region and around the world requires the strengthening of the institution of the presidency and governance in the country," Asadov said.
Member of the UK Parliament Lord David Evans said they were deeply impressed by what they saw during the monitoring of the referendum. He hailed the methodology used in the organization of the referendum and voting process in Azerbaijan.
Saying they monitored six polling stations, Lord David Evans particularly emphasized people's interest in referendum and high voter turnout in the voting process.
