UN nuke chief arrives in Tehran

A+ A

Baku, September 20, AZERTAC

Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, IAEA, Yukiya Amano has arrived in Tehran.

Iran said the visit is aimed at implementing an agreement between Tehran and the UN nuclear watchdog.

The official IRNA news agency quoted Behrouz Kamalvandi, spokesman for Iran's nuclear agency, as saying Yukiya Amano's goal in Tehran is "preparing for implementation of the roadmap."

Iran and the international atomic energy agency, or the IAEA, signed a confidential "road map" agreement in Vienna on further cooperation after an early July visit to Iran by Amano.

IRNA said during his visit to Tehran, Amano would probably attend a meeting of a special parliamentary committee that will be reviewing Iran's nuclear deal.
