The Vienna Conservatory has joined celebrations of the 100th jubilee of famous Azerbaijani composer Jevdet Hajiyev. The beautiful music of Javdet Hajiyev continues to win the hearts of connoisseurs of high art all over the world. The organizers of concert events dedicated to Jevdet Hajiyev's anniversary told AZERTAC that the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, led by its President, First Vice President of Azerbaijan, Mehriban Aliyeva, supported international competitions in order to promote Azerbaijani music. Jevdet Hajiyev’s works were included in the compulsory program of competitions and were performed by 278 participants of the competitions in France and Switzerland.
Alexander Kadmiel (Romania) was named the winner of the first special Adilya Aliyeva prize in the category of young talents. Kadmiel performed one of the pearls of Azerbaijani music - the piano ballad by Jevdet Hajiyev.
Azerbaijan was represented by young pianist Javid Yusif-zade, who received the diploma of the finalist and a special prize in the category of young scholars for free education in Paris.
The final concert took place at the United Nations in Geneva watched by diplomats at the Palais des Nations.
Several events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Jevdet Hajiyev will be held in Austria and Germany. Jevdet Hajiyev’s daughter Pervin Muradova-Dilbazi, a member of the Guild of American musicians, professor of piano at the University of Florida and promoter of Azerbaijani music abroad, told AZERTAC that the concert will take place on Sept. 25 at the Vienna Conservatory, which also joined celebrations of the centenary of Jevdet Hajiyev.
Doctor of Arts Farah Tahirova will host the presentation of the event.
Piano works by Jevdet Hajiyev have been performed in Vienna, at the Feurich International Piano, Vocal and Chamber Music Competition as well as at the Carmel Klavier International Piano Competition in Indiana, USA.
