Baku, October 24, AZERTAC.
Wizz Air will resume flights between Hungary’s Budapest and Azerbaijan’s Baku from March 2016, said vice-president of Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) Arif Mammadov.
He said a contract will be signed with Hungary’s Wizz Air on October 28.
“We have 99 percent agreed with the terms of Wizz Air,” said Mammadov. “A delegation of the Hungarian airline will arrive in Baku on Oct. 27.”
“The contract will be signed Oct. 28 on the terms that are preferential for the Hungarian company. Wizz Air was offered to operate to Gabala, but the airline insisted on Baku, and we agreed on this issue,” said Mammadov.
He added that the Hungarian airline will start operating flights between Budapest and Baku from March next year.
“We offered them to begin flights in the winter, but they decided to start in March,” said Mammadov. “In the start, flight frequency will be one flight a week, and in summer will increase to two flights a week.”
