Yekaterinburg hosts 6th Russian-Azerbaijani Interregional Forum

The 6th Russian-Azerbaijani interregional forum has kicked off at the International Exhibition Center in Yekaterinburg.

A large Azerbaijani delegation is attending the forum, including representatives of the Presidential Administration, heads of regional executive authorities, ministries and state departments, and representatives of business circles.

The Forum is co-organized by the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation and Ministry of Economy and Industry of Azerbaijan.

Chief of the Russian Presidential Directorate for Interregional Relations and Cultural Contacts with Foreign Countries Vladimir Chernov and the Azerbaijani President`s Aide for Public and Political Affairs Ali Hasanov read out Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's and Russian President Vladimir Putin's congratulatory messages to the participants.

Russian Deputy Minister of Economic Development Alexander Tsybulskiy and Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry Niyazi Safarov addressed the opening ceremony. They highlighted the current state of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

Azerbaijani Ambassador to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu and Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Vladimir Dorokhin drew the audience`s attention to the existing potential for developing bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Russia.

The Forum will feature the Russian-Azerbaijani Youth Forum as well as expert meetings to discuss the bilateral cooperation in economic, political, agricultural, transport, tourism and humanitarian areas. The two countries will sign a number of documents.
