'Sochi meeting of presidents points to ample prospects for Azerbaijan-Russia strategic cooperation'
Baku, July 23, AZERTAC
“The Sochi meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev points to ample prospects of strategic partnership between the two countries. It is a step forward,” said Azerbaijani MP Shahin Ismayilov.
“We can assess this meeting from several points. This meeting once more demonstrated the high level of strategic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia. If we listen to both presidents’ speeches during the meeting, we will see that the heads of state are happy with the fact that the two countries enjoy equal relations. They share the view that these relations will strengthen in future," Ismayilov said.
"The presidents also discussed the issue of crucial importance to Azerbaijan – Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. This is a serious message to Armenia, which has long lost its political independence."
"Relations between Azerbaijan and Russia are equal. They cover political, economic, humanitarian, military areas,” he added.
