Azerbaijan, Croatia ink MoU on military and technical cooperation
Baku, February 6 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan and Croatia have today signed a Memorandum of Understanding on military and technical cooperation.
The MoU was signed by defence ministers Safar Abiyev of Azerbaijan and Ante Kotromanović of Croatia.
Prior to the signing ceremony, Abiyev and Kotromanović had a meeting.
During the meeting, the ministers discussed the establishment and development of the military and technical cooperation between Azerbaijan and Croatia.
Abiyev briefed the Croatian counterpart on military and political situation in the region, obstacles to settle the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and continuation of Armenia`s occupation policy. The Azerbaijani Minister noted “if the problem is not solved peacefully, using military force will be inevitable”.
Kotromanović said Croatia was interested in building military cooperation with Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijani Ambassador to Croatia Kamil Khasiyev was also present at the meeting.
During the Baku trip, Croatian Defence Minister Ante Kotromanović also visited the Alley of Honors to pay respect to national leader, founder and architect of modern Azerbaijani state Heydar Aliyev.
The Minister also put flowers at the grave of prominent ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva.
Kotromanović visited the Alley of Martyrs to commemorate Azerbaijani heroes who gave their lives for the country`s independence and territorial integrity.
