Azerbaijani movie to be screened at international festival in Ukraine
Baku, October 12 (AZERTAC). The “Sakura”, a movie by Azerbaijani filmmakers, will attend the international “Molodist” film festival in Kiev, Ukraine.
The film was shot by Azeri film director Novruz Hikmat.
The International Film Festival will inspire all cinema lovers. 124 productions from 38 countries will be screened. In total 12 prices worth overall about 36.000 Euro are awarded by different juries, consisting of professionals, children and teenager.
This festival showcases contemporary European films, documentaries and short fiction films, and also aims to encourage film trends in European countries.
After a decline in the festival programme`s proportion of short documentaries over the last few years, the programme advisory board has now decided to make them a category in its own right. The films listed here are as exciting, instructive and entertaining as their full-length relatives.
The festival provides an opportunity for young directors not only to learn the secrets of world cinema and film production, but also to participate in the formation of the Central European auteur cinema.
The festival has a perfect festival size, professional but still intimate, with 1.000 accredited industry professionals. There is an extensive media-pedagogical programme for kindergartens, schools and after-school care clubs, which brings children and young adults an understanding of films.
The international jury of the film festival appreciates most of the films that bring forth the idea of a person`s moral transformation, or their spiritual development.
